Kouji è un ragazzo pigro che frequenta le superiori e che vaga senza scopo nella vita. Un giorno incontra un bambino che dorme sotto l'ombra di un albero, in compagnia di un gatto e un cane. Presto si rende conto che quel bambino, Daichi, ha la sua stessa abilità di sentire le voci degli animali e oggetti. Kouji credeva di averla persa molto tempo fa, ma forse non è così.
